LOCATION:

COSTA RICA

Ten days split between the jungle interior and the Pacific Coast on the Guanacaste Peninsula. The rainforest is dense enough that you never quite know what's hiding in it. Around one corner it's a waterfall pouring into water so blue it doesn't look real, and around the next it's a viper coiled on a leaf you'd never think to look twice at. Costa Rica is home to over half a million species, and even with eyes wide open, what you see is probably a fraction of what's actually there. Out on the coast, the water was warmer than anywhere I've surfed, and the sunsets made it impossible to come in.
