JAMES BRASIER

James Brasier is a self-taught commercial and outdoor photographer based in Colorado. His work moves between brand campaigns, adventure travel, and outdoor lifestyle — built on location in real environments, wherever the project leads. His images are shaped by an attention to craft and a belief that where something is shot is inseparable from how it's shot.

I came to photography through the outdoors — I wanted to capture the places I was going and the things I was seeing, and the camera became part of how I experienced them. I grew up as an athlete, spending time on mountains, in the water, and on trails most people only see in photos. That background shapes everything about how I work. I'm not observing from the sidelines — I understand what these environments feel like from the inside, and that shows up in the frame. But the work isn't all energy. I'm just as drawn to the quiet details — how light moves through a space, how a scene comes together when you stop and wait for it. I care about craft, I sweat the small things, and I build every image with the intention that it holds up wherever it lives after.

THE WORK

I focus on location-driven photography for outdoor brands and lifestyle campaigns — creating imagery that's made in the field and built to perform long after the shoot wraps.

My work spans personal landscape projects and commercial assignments — both built with the same level of intention and craft.

HAVE A PROJECT IN MIND? I’M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THE NEXT LOCATION.
